Fresh back

You’ve got to adore the unpredictability of Northwest Ohio weather! One moment, it’s a sun-soaked 75 degrees, then it snows that night, and suddenly, you’re caught in a surprise hailstorm as if the weather is auditioning for its own reality show! Welcome to “Is it or is it not Spring in Lucas County?” Feel free to rock a tank top, rain boots, and a parka all before the sun sets! Trust me, don’t plant anything until after Mother’s Day. 🥇First and foremost, the US Marshals wanted to make sure we knew that it was because of our social media page and followers that a pretty dangerous serial robber was apprehended and taken into custody! Thank you! Thank you so much to the Toledo City Paper and everyone who took the time to vote for the L.C.S.O.! It is truly an honor to celebrate our third consecutive win for Best Social Media and our second consecutive award for Best Police Officer. This achievement underscores our dedication to listening to our community and fostering an approachable space filled with entertaining and informative content. Being voted “Best Police Officer" symbolizes everyone's collective effort to make a positive impact in our communities. I insisted that all staff be in the photo with me, as it showcases our unity. In the picture, Sheriff Navarre stands with our dedicated team. I want to express my gratitude to all L.C.S.O. personnel for their unwavering support, innovative ideas, and endless inspiration. Thank you! Tomorrow marks the start of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week (April 13th to 19th). In our moments of crisis, it’s the unseen voices of 911 operators, call takers, and dispatchers that bring us calm and support! 🌟 Their unwavering dedication and resilience keep our communities safe, often without a thank you. Let’s celebrate these heroes who are always there, even when we don’t see them! 🙌 I am a huge fan of family-run businesses, locally owned establishments, union-supported organizations, and the best ice cream shops around. This week, I had the pleasure of meeting two fantastic and hardworking individuals. What they accomplished in a single day amazed me! A huge shout-out to them for moving a mountain of mulch, clearing away yard junk, and reorganizing the most chaotic woodpile I have ever seen. My They truly went above and beyond! Check them out! Fresh Start Lawn Care & Junk Removal In the spirit of hard work and perseverance, we are excited to announce that we are accepting applications again. The starting pay (which refers to your initial hourly rate for a specific period) is $ 24.00 per hour. Quite a difference since Sheriff Navarre took over when it was at 15.00. This also includes a great benefits package, and you will earn both vacation and compensatory time. Among Us

As luck would have it, I had an unplanned visit to the dentist this week. Not the gift I was expecting! However, while I was waiting, I met a wonderful woman from 911. She said, “Excuse me, can I ask an intrusive question? Are you the guy that runs the LCSO Facebook page?” Yep, that’s me. It was a great conversation, and then I had to go to the back. I am sure many of you know what happens in the chair, in the back! I could not feel my mouth, nose, or ears for a few hours. More importantly, I would be remiss in not giving a huge shout-out to all of our 911 dispatchers and call-takers during the holidays. Thank you for following the page. More importantly, quickly assessing situations, providing critical information, and coordinating resources that make a significant difference in saving lives and effectively managing crises. THANK YOU This week, I was impressed by the artistry of a Christmas tree made out of paper in our dorm. I was asked if the guys could create something beyond Star Wars, and I encouraged them to go for it. They constructed an impressive tree using notebook paper. I am looking forward to challenging these men and women more within the new year. Working with our case managers, we will be developing programming and activities that work to engage those incarcerated in the jail. Additionally, we upgraded our Christmas decorations in the jail, thanks to Deputy Priscilla Fletcher. We want to congratulate Lieutenant Javier Martinez's son, Hensley, on graduating from the D.A.R.E. program this week. He was chosen to speak to his class about his overall experience and thoughts on what he had learned. Hensley told his entire class, “My top three favorite D.A.R.E. lessons I learned were about alcohol use, vaping, and stress.” DARE is crucial for our youth as it equips them with the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about substance use and mental health. By addressing contemporary issues like vaping and stress management, it fosters a culture of healthy living and resilience among young people. Congrats to Hensley and his class! Finally, this is the last day to vote! If you could please take the time to vote for the Best of 2024 Social Media and Police Officer, we would appreciate it. Thank you in advance!!!
