Memorable involved
On Saturday, April 5th, STEM South Carolina, powered by Clemson University, hosted an amazing STEM Fest at R.B. Stall High School in North Charleston. The event, executed by STEM Global Action, brought together over 750 K-12th grade students, parents, and volunteers from 196 local schools. STEM Fest was all about hands-on learning and fun activities that helped kids explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM).
There were more than 60 exciting STEM activities for kids to try out, from coding and building robots, to flying drones and learning about space! Everyone had the chance to get involved and discover how STEM can be fun and creative. Plus, the event was FREE for all children in grades K-12, and 59% of the participants qualify for free and reduced lunch programs, making it even more special for the North Charleston community.
A huge thanks to our wonderful sponsors, Integer Technologies and Benedict College, who made this event possible. Their employees were awesome volunteers, acting as STEM mentors to guide and inspire the kids. Their help made the day even more memorable.
STEM South Carolina and STEM Global Action are working hard to expose, engage, and inspire the next generation of innovators, creators, makers, and entrepreneurs through events like this.
