Low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) are home to 85% of the world's population but produce just 0.2% of researchers, so increasing these numbers is crucial. We’re committed to development initiatives that support librarians, authors, and researchers in low- and middle-income countries, and work with organizations such as Research4Life, whose mission is to “build an inclusive, diverse, and equitable scholarly communications environment.”
Our Research and Analytics Manager Tiffany Drake, along with Sustainability Manager Catherine Hodgson, found 4,500 articles, published by researchers from Research4Life countries in the past 4 years, affiliated with an Education institute, that cited at least one pay-to-read Taylor & Francis article from a journal to which Taylor & Francis provides Research4Life access.
