On February 8, the Historical Society will be hosting a special tea to honor one of Red River's finest, Winnie Hamilton. Maybe this will help you decide to attend...see all info on the Red River Historical Society page. Here is one of her books about Red River life with colorized photos, "Wagon Days In Red River", and the title I parodied for my digital collection I've been calling, "Vinyl Days In Red River". She was among a group of locals who surprised me on the opening day of the Doggone Saloon in 1972 along with Hank & Johnnie Mutz, John & Rosie Brandenburg, Bob & Ester Prunty and a dozen others who welcomed a city boy to town and telling Mac's two big dogs goodbye!!. They where very loving, mountain life people that I have great memories of and the reason I'm trying to save the printed and recorded history of their lives so future folks can enjoy their love of the valley. I will post her second book and 2 hours of a videotaped oral history about the Tall Pine Resort during this month here every Monday the next few weeks. Folks who shop at www.RedRiverDreams.com or buy my "Rainbows & Echoes" book at Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/1798762269 help me fund the expense of archiving this material. If you like the Red River history being saved, and would like to help me fund the effort, a PayPal contribution link is now active. I want the physical material to go to the RRHS or a safe repository when done with digitizing. https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=A892EYRQ8QG42 Thank you and enjoy! Paul Smith aka Snappy
