Religious scriptures teach love, compassion, and fraternity. However, in today’s world, religion is often used as an excuse to abandon these very values. People suffer daily due to persecution, hatred, and violence in the name of religion. Religion is not the true identity of a person; it is merely a belief system. A person’s real identity lies in their actions, thoughts, and humanity. When religion becomes a narrow label, people lose sight of their shared humanity. We forget that everyone bleeds the same red blood and feels the same pain. If religion becomes a source of division, what purpose does it serve? In the modern world, religion seems to divide more than it unites. Children are not born with religious bias; they learn it from society. They are taught to see differences—“us” versus “them.” This division ultimately fuels conflicts and destroys the peace that religion was supposed to bring. Humanity is at the core of every religion. To truly be religious, one must first embrace humanity. Respecting others’ beliefs, refraining from harming anyone, and ensuring equality for all are the hallmarks of genuine spirituality. Every great leader in history—be it Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi, or Nelson Mandela—has emphasized the importance of humanity over religion. They understood that religion should remain a personal belief, never a tool for dividing society. Despite advancements in science and technology, humanity often lags behind due to mental blindness caused by religious bias. If we aspire to be truly human, we must stop judging people by their religion. Let our good deeds define us. To be "human" is not just about existing as a living being but about being a person of love, compassion, and truth. Let our actions and humanity become our true identity. Let religion remain a personal matter, and humanity a shared one. So, man, leave religion and be human. Let your hands build a society where no one is judged or divided by their faith.
