Project Manager (3-Month Contract) Position Overview We are seeking a results-oriented Project Manager to lead several critical initiatives over an initial 3-month engagement. The role requires a strategic thinker who can also execute with speed and precision. Success in this role may lead to an extended opportunity within the organization. Key Responsibilities Over the 3-month period, the Project Manager will be expected to: 1. Pursue Strategic Partnerships - Initiate discussions with at least 3 Sri Lankan universities for academic collaboration (e.g., delivering modules or co-creating minor programs). - Contact global or regional companies for potential partnerships in training material development or content licensing. - Prepare partnership pitch decks and proposal templates. 2. Design & Launch a Finishing School Program - Develop a structure and curriculum outline for a pilot program focused on industry readiness. - Identify trainers, mentors, and potential guest speakers. - Launch the pilot, onboard the first cohort, and track early metrics. 3. Initiate Grant Applications - Identify relevant local and international grant opportunities. - Draft and submit at least 2 high-quality grant proposals. - Build a repository of reusable content for future funding applications. 4. Conduct an Industry Skills Gap Survey - Design and roll out a survey targeting tech employers and industry leaders. - Analyze findings to identify critical skill shortages (e.g., chip designers, Salesforce engineers). - Prepare a summary report with actionable insights based on evidence. 5. Help coordinate upcoming Skill Surf Projects for the year - Organize the timeline and schedule of the project the teams are working on for 2025. - Coordinate with the teams to ensure that action items are accomplished on time. Ideal Candidate Profile - Proven project management experience, ideally in education, technology, or nonprofit sectors. - Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and organizational skills. - Familiarity with the Sri Lankan tech landscape and/or global edtech space. - Self-starter attitude with a bias for action and problem-solving. Contract Terms Duration: 3 months, with possibility of extension Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience Time Commitment: Full-time preferred, part-time negotiable Students looking for internships and part-time work are also encouraged to apply!
