Advices this wildly popular playwright in an interview with “Paines Plough“ - a new writing company the 50-year-long history of which has also been enriched by his writing. 'And don't give up, man.' The empathetic bond he shares with those who fail does not come from nowhere - this playwright had a fair share of his own failures before his grand success. Having had to work a handful of side-jobs until writing became his main occupation, he credits this experience for enriching his plays - it was working as a schoolteacher that made him want to capture the vibrant language of teenagers and he sure does it better than anyone else. Back in the day I was fortunate enough to attend one of his young writers workshops and I can confirm first-hand that he understands young people very well. Perhaps that's why his own thoughts feel so rejuvenating and fresh that I feel like pretty much every one of them could be placed in quotation marks and become MPR's quote of the week. But today I will settle on this: „Be unafraid of failure”. Why?
