🌟 Why I'm Running for Pekin Park Board 🌟 Hello, Pekin! My name is Eric Wrigley, and I'm excited to be running for Pekin Park Board Commissioner. As a lifelong resident of Pekin, I have seen how our community has grown and evolved. Now, it's time for us to build a future where the park district can thrive, providing better spaces that are safe and cutting edge for all ages to enjoy. Here are the four key areas I’m focused on: 1️⃣ New Faces / New Ideas: We need fresh perspectives to move our parks forward. It's time to bring new voices to the table, ones that are passionate about creating fun, accessible, and sustainable spaces for our families. I aim to bring my successful background in business to the team to aid us in finding new ways to ensure our parks continue to be the pride of our community. I'm ready to help! 2️⃣ Sustainable Business Model – Balance the Budget: Financial responsibility is key. I will work to ensure that we balance the budget, avoid unnecessary spending, and create a long-term plan for maintaining and improving our facilities. 3️⃣ Invest in Current Facilities: Our parks and recreation spaces are vital to our community's quality of life. I believe in investing in what we have, making improvements, and ensuring our parks are clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone. 4️⃣ Improve Intergovernmental Relationships: Collaboration is essential. By fostering stronger relationships with local organizations, neighboring governments, the city, and neighboring communities, we can achieve more and bring even more resources to Pekin. Our neighbors are our partners; their success is our success. Together, we can create a stronger, more vibrant Pekin. Let’s work toward a brighter future for our parks and our community.
