The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign, supported by over 150 Irish civil society organisations, has called another National Demonstration for Palestine on Saturday 25th December. By 25th January there will likely be a new government in place, and we need to let them know that that we are done with excuses - we want meaningful sanctions on Apartheid Israel, and we want them now! SANCTIONS NOW! PASS THE OTB, DIVESTMENT BILL, & ARMS EMBARGO BILL! STOP ARMING ISRAEL! END GAZA GENOCIDE! END ISRAELI APARTHEID! FREEDOM AND JUSTICE FOR PALESTINE! For more than a year now, Gaza has known only death, destruction and displacement. Health officials report at least 46,000 Palestinians have been murdered in Israel’s genocide - a new study in the prestigious medical journal The Lancet suggests the figure is really around 70,000. This includes more than 17,500 children, including 80 who've been killed or died of hypothermia already this year. 10,000 more are missing, their fates unknown. Around 100,000 people have been injured in Israeli attacks. Famine and disease stalk the land, while the healthcare system has been eviscerated. Almost 2 million people have been displaced, made homeless, and living precariously knowing that at any moment the worst may happen to them or their loved ones. And now they are facing the cold, harsh winter. And all the while, Western governments have allowed this to happen – whether by actively facilitating Apartheid Israel’s brutal onslaught, or by doing absolutely nothing to stop it. This has to end – we need to tell the new government we want the Occupied Territories Bill, the Illegal Israeli Settlements Divestment Bill, and the Arms Embargo Bill passed, and end to the use of Irish airports and airspace to transfer weapons, we want Israel kicked out of the EU-Israel Association Agreement, the breaking diplomatic relations. In short, we want sanctions now! Bring friends and family! Bring noise and hope! Let’s make our voices heard force the new government to TAKE ACTION NOW!
