Practical strengthening
Are you supporting a partner, family member, or loved one who is a current serving or retired member of emergency services and defence force who is suffering from PTSD? You're not alone.
Join our support group for family members and friends, in a safe and supportive space where you can share your experiences, learn effective coping strategies, and build emotional resilience alongside others who understand the unique challenges of supporting first responders.
This group meets once every three week at St John of God Langmore Centre, Berwick and is professionally facilitated to ensure a welcoming, confidential, and empowering environment.
Each session focuses on:
• Emotional Wellbeing: Identifying stressors, burnout signs, and pathways to self-care.
• Coping Strategies: Practical tools to manage daily pressures and long-term challenges.
• Psychoeducation: Learn how trauma and shift work can impact behaviour, relationships, and mental health.
• Relationship Resilience: Strengthening communication and connection with your loved one.
• Community Connection: Engage in a supportive, therapeutic space where you can connect with others who understand your journey, fostering a sense of belonging and shared experience.
Come along once, when you can make it or attend every session- it's up to you! However, bookings are essential.
