Healthy observe
In Montessori, we encourage tummy time as a natural part of infant development.
We carefully observe our babies during tummy time, allowing them the freedom to explore movement at their own pace.
Tummy time is essential for your baby’s healthy growth and development. Placing your baby on their tummy while they’re awake and supervised offers several key benefits:
• Prevents Flat Spots
Tummy time helps reduce the risk of developing flat spots on the back of your baby’s head (a condition known as positional plagiocephaly).
• Promotes Flexibility
It helps prevent tightness in the neck muscles, encouraging a full range of motion and healthy alignment.
• Builds Strength
Tummy time strengthens the muscles in the neck, shoulders, arms, and back — all of which are important for reaching developmental milestones such as holding up the head, rolling over, sitting, and crawling.
