📣❗We’re got some 𝐌𝐄𝐆𝐀 𝐓𝐈𝐏𝐒 for you❗📣 Tomorrow’s the start of the largest adoption event in the country, which is powered by Petco Love, and we can’t wait to find families for the 1,000+ homeless pets that will be in attendance. Here are some tips for attending to make it a PAWsome adoption experience for everyone. Event FAQs can also be found here: megaadopt.com/faq . 🐾 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑: While our Mega Adoption Event is indoors, the waiting line may stretch outside. It is expected to be in the 90s, so be sure to bring water, protective clothing, and sunscreen until you reach the event inside. 🐾 𝐅𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐒: Check-in at the registration table for 8:30 am-10:00 am entry. Bring your ID that matches the name on the ticket purchase. Each pass is good for one adoption per family; the $35 adoption fee is additional. (Passes are sold out.) 🐾 𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐒: There typically is a line to enter much of Saturday and early Sunday. We let people enter in groups for the safety of the animals and to support the adoption process. There will be an indoor waiting area, but likely the line will stretch outdoors, so dress for the weather and remember to bring sunscreen, water, and a folding chair if you are unable to stand for extended periods of time. 🐾 𝐀𝐃𝐎𝐏𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐒: Adoptions are on a first-come basis to a matching family, and there are no holds. You can meet up to 3 dogs, but there are no holds during the meet time, so we can give each pet as much opportunity as possible to go home. All adoption paperwork is done on-site at our location; there are no advance application steps. 🐾 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐄𝐖𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐃𝐎𝐏𝐓𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄𝐒: Many of the pets joining the event will be new arrivals that won’t be on the website until they reach the adoption floor on Saturday or Sunday. There will also be a delay in updating the website to reflect adoptions. In addition, we're the host shelter, but we also have other shelters participating. Your best chance to see the adoptables is to come to the event. 🐾 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐓𝐎 𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆: Bring everyone in the family to participate in the decision, and have your ID and payment method for the $35 adoption fee with a major credit card. For cats, you’re welcome to bring a carrier, or we'll have cardboard carriers generously donated by Petco Love. For dogs, you can bring a leash and collar or purchase a set on-site. 🐾 𝐕𝐎𝐋𝐔𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆: There’s a dedicated volunteer check-in area. All volunteers need to be signed up in advance. Volunteers who want to adopt need to do so after their volunteer shift and through the standard adoption process. 🐾 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆: There is ample free parking. That includes accessible parking spaces, but if you aren’t able to find an accessible spot, please ask for assistance. 🐾 𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑: Our adoption centers will be CLOSED TODAY until Monday, June 23. We will resume regular adoption center hours on Tuesday, June 24, after Mega. However, our PetSmart Everyday Adoption Center in Plymouth Meeting will be OPEN Friday (today), Saturday, and Sunday. 🐶 We can’t wait to see you at the event! 🐱
