Hey fam. I'm proud to announce the launching of Papua New Guinea's first AI Legal Consultation Assistant App "LexPNG", which is an AI startup I founded 8 months ago with dreams of becoming a prominent tech company in the field of AI in the future. I first identified the pain-point (problem) in this country when I noticed hundreds if not thousands of everyday Papua New Guineans are facing potential legal issues at least once a week in their lifetime but they can't afford a professional to give legal advice about their rights as a Papua New Guinean. That is why I have created the solution where people can get access to instant and affordable preliminary legal advices. I presented the research and a prototype on "AI Legal Consultation Application" as my final year project in 2024 at PNG Unitech and because I was so intrigued by the idea of it I decided to build and implement the idea itself for the past 8 months. The core features of the application includes: 1. User Authentication and Email Verification. 2. Highly trained and fine-tuned GPT-4 models. 3. Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) systems. 4. Encoding and Decoding of Uploaded Legal Documents. 5. Accessing documents safely through Google Drive. 6. Cloud storage and synchronization. 7. Subscription Logic. The AI models are trained, fine-tuned and prompt engineered to answer questions relating to their legal domains. The reasoning of the AI models uses RAG system to retrieve specific legal precedents from the based on the user queries. Note: The thousands of legal datasets used by the models for reasoning are retrieved from the Pacific Legal Information Institute (PACLII) which includes PNG Legislation and PNG Case Law.
