Resilient strategic
🔥One of the safest ways to build landscape fire-resilient ecosystems and communities is to involve the communities themselves in the process. That is why the Landscape Fire Management Programme invests in community-based projects in the Western Balkans, focusing on mitigating landscape fire risks and building resilient landscapes through community engagement.
🌳 These projects translate accumulated knowledge into practical applications by combining innovation, collaboration, and strategic planning. Located in regions previously identified as vulnerable to fires, the projects direct efforts towards landscapes where LFM approaches are highly significant. By providing evidence-based results, these initiatives shape LFM guidelines in decision-making processes, empowering communities and emphasizing evidence-based practices to safeguard landscapes and livelihoods from the devastating impact of fires.
