As we engage 2025, we are reminded of our rich history and the ongoing journey for justice and recognition for the Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiians).
In 1897, the Kū’ē Petitions gathered over 39,000 signatures, a powerful testament to the resistance against the unlawful overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom and the proposed annexation by the United States. This grassroots movement showed the world our unwavering spirit and commitment to sovereignty.
Today, we are reigniting that spirit! The Kū’ē Petition is being circulated once again as a reminder that the illegal occupation of our beloved Hawaii continues since 1893. We must come together to advocate for our rights and the recognition of Hawaii as a sovereign and neutral nation.
