It's women only, so it feels safer here. It is really difficult to find a safe place for women, and I keep telling the ladies over at my hostel, why don’t you just go over to Janes Place?” Catherine’s health started to deteriorate over lockdown. Her relationship was under stress. She began drinking more, and soon realised she had a problem. She stopped working so she could go and get help. Now homeless and in recovery, she finds friendship and hope at Jane’s Place. At Jane’s Place Catherine can make her own food, meet with friends, work on her CV and keep her recovery going strong. When you’ve suffered life on the streets, when you know the trauma of violence, or if you’re silently battling addiction, with nowhere to turn – Jane’s Place is here.
