Unseen—but strong enough to move mountains of metal. This is the story of every soul. You and I were never created to be stuck in sin. But we’ve fallen into something we can’t get ourselves out of. Sin is sticky and never let's go. It hardens hearts. It numbs hope. It buries purpose. But the Gospel says something revolutionary: God sees you. And He’s already pulling. (Proof? CAN GOD USE A HANDICAPPED PERSON? Grace to you from the beautiful Philippine Islands! Today is Thursday, April 17, 2025. Our reading today is a familiar passage from John Chapter 9. Jesus and His disciples come upon a man who was born blind. When His disciples saw the man, they questioned Jesus, “Who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus' answer should be carefully noted. Although ALL people are sinners (Romans 3:23), the disciples wanted to know why this particular man was born blind. Jesus answered, "..that the works of GOD should be manifest in him." v. 3 When Jesus healed the blind man, it displayed the wonderful works of GOD. It confirmed Who Jesus is, although the religious leaders could not wrap their minds around the Truth. GOD can greatly use those who have physical handicaps. Although most handicapped people will never be whole again, GOD wants to glorify Himself through their lives. Here are a few examples of modern-day believers who chose to glorify GOD through their tragedy. Joni Eareckson Tada. Joni (pronounced Johnny) was injured in a diving accident as a teen and became a quadriplegic. She has been wheelchair-bound all of her life. Although she desperately wanted to be healed, she glorified GOD in her situation. She realized that GOD was in control and chose to use her situation to help others who were handicapped. Thousands have come to Christ through her ministry and testimony. Also, two Vietnam vets lost major parts of their bodies in combat. David Roever and Tim Lee. These men have preached the Gospel to millions and glorified GOD through their lives. Nic Vujicic was born without arms or legs. However, he speaks to hundreds of thousands of people annually and shares his relationship to the LORD. Nic is married to a beautiful wife and has four children. Last, and certainly not least, is my dear Filipino friend, Leno Ciano. Leno also was crippled after a childhood bout with polio. His legs became deformed and he never walked again. When I met Leno, he was just entering a Bible School in Manila. We became instant friends. I was able to get him his first wheelchair. I encouraged and supported him for several years. He preached the Word of GOD to thousands of Filipinos and led many to Christ. Leno married a lovely young lady named Maggie. Together, they had a beautiful daughter named Hannah. Sadly, Leno’s ministry was cut short after three years. He is now with our LORD. If GOD can use people with severe handicaps, then you and I have no excuse. I have heard each of these handicapped believers say, “If I had my life to live over again, I would not change one thing, especially my handicap.” If you are ill or handicapped in any way, GOD can use you. If you follow Jesus Christ, glorify GOD in your current situation, even if GOD chooses not to heal you. One day soon you will have a new body. Our present bodies are only temporary and are deteriorating with each passing day. Don't miss the lesson here. The main emphasis in this chapter is not "physical" healing but "spiritual" healing. Many Christians ignorantly quote Isaiah 53:5, “…with His stripes, we are healed..” in reference to physical healing. That verse, when studied in context has nothing to do with physical healing. It is talking about “spiritual healing” from our wicked sins. The blind man in the text today also was referring to spiritual healing when he declared, “I once was blind but now I see.” v.25 In verse 38 when he saw Jesus face to face he proclaimed, “Lord, I believe.” Faith in Jesus is better than physical healing any day! However, Jesus told the Pharisees they were spiritually blind and remained in their sin. v.41 If you have never trusted Christ as your Lord and Savior I encourage you to do so today. It is only by faith that we can spiritually see that Jesus is GOD, our Creator and Savior. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God." Not of works, lest any man should boast.(Ephesians 2:8,9) The most popular spiritual song in the world is “Amazing Grace”, written by a former slave trader, John Newton. These are the words in the first and second stanzas. The idea came from the passage we read today: Amazing Grace, How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me I once was lost, but now am found T'was blind but now I see T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear And Grace, my fears relieved How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed Note: Below are photos of the four heroes I mentioned above. THE FOUNDATIONAL ELEMENTS OF THIS SO GREAT SALVATION — Part 5 "So he, trembling and astonished, said, 'Lord, what do You want me to do'" (Acts 9:6a)? We have been considering the fundamental elements involved in authentic conversion. These spiritual components are the dramatic consequence of the Wind of God powerfully applying the Gospel of Jesus Christ in His regenerating work of gracing a sinner with a spiritual heart transplant! This glorious passage concerning the conversion of Saul of Tarsus distinctly describes the foundational elements always present and active in the conversion of any sinner! Saul, in particular, was a man who had previously been a violent opponent of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Gospel. Yet, on this life-altering day on the road to Damascus, Saul of Tarsus was graciously arrested with a personal awareness that he was being acted upon by God the Son. Confronted with the truth that the One whom he had been persecuting is God the Son, he was gripped with alarming fear concerning what the Lord Jesus thought of him. Additionally, Saul was utterly convinced that his previous lifestyle of self-righteous religiosity was nothing but a pile of filthy rags before the Lord. His heart was staggered with the truth that he, a pharisee of Pharisees, was a destitute, defiled, and desperate sinner in the presence of God the Son. His heart stabbed deeply with the overwhelming truth that all of his thousands of sins had been personally committed against the Lord Jesus. As a result, he was profoundly alarmed with a holy trembling and heart-shattering astonishment concerning the perilous condition of his soul, the eternal destination of his soul, and his urgent to be saved by the Lord Jesus Christ. This leads us to the following fundamental element: the response to this confrontation. Saul, asks, "LORD, what will You have me to do?" Straightaway, Saul of Tarsus expressed a personal vocal testimony of the 'unconditional surrender of his will' to the Lord Jesus Christ. He cried out in utter humility and submission to the Lordship of the One he had previously sought to destroy. May I say, "Saul of Tarsus raised the 'white flag' of the personal surrender through repentance toward God and saving faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ!" The mighty converting work of the Lord had produced the dramatic effect of a profound conviction upon his mind. Through the Spirit's supernatural work, the roots of brokenness and contrition were planted in his emotions. As a result, it yielded the consequential transformation of CONVERSION upon his will! Notice the words, "LORD, what will You have me to do?" This violent and treasonous rebel was powerfully transformed into a true and spiritual worshiper of the Lord Jesus Christ! While it is true that the intensity of these supernatural effects on the mind, emotions, and will that will vary among converts to Christ, all must yield to His Lordship. However, unless a man's heart, mind, and will are all involved in an encounter with the Lord Jesus, there is no authentic conversion. Some may attempt to contradict this by pointing out a scripture, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved". Many think that means that anyone who SAYS those words that they have believed must be a Christian. We must never forget that many "so-called faith in Jesus" never comprise authentic saving faith! A supernatural work of the Spirit in the mind, emotions, and will must be present (at least to some degree) if there is going to be a Bonafede conversion to Jesus Christ. I emphasize that "there is an infinite distinction between a 'mere mental assent to a set of propositions about Jesus and the sinner,' with an 'authentic repentance toward God and saving faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.' There is an eternal difference between a 'superficial agreement with some historical facts about Jesus' and 'a life-transforming genuine conversion encounter with Christ Jesus the Lord!

But the people in the world don’t understand that we are God’s children, because they have not known him. Dear friends, now we are children of God. We have not yet been shown what we will be in the future. But we know that when Christ comes again, we will be like him. We will see him just as he is.” ‭‭ Philippians‬ ‭3‬:‭18‬-‭21‬ “There are many who live like enemies of the cross of Christ. I have often told you about them. And it makes me cry to tell you about them now. The way they live is leading them to destruction. They have replaced God with their own desires. They do shameful things, and they are proud of what they do. They think only about earthly things. But the government that rules us is in heaven. We are waiting for our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, to come from there. He will change our humble bodies and make them like his own glorious body. Christ can do this by his power, with which he is able to rule everything.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭51‬-‭52‬, ‭54‬-‭55‬ “But listen, I tell you this secret: We will not all die, but we will all be changed. It will only take the time of a second. We will be changed as quickly as an eye blinks. This will happen when the last trumpet blows. The trumpet will blow and those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we will all be changed. So this body that ruins will clothe itself with that which never ruins. And this body that dies will clothe itself with that which never dies. When this happens, the Scriptures will be made true: “Death is swallowed in victory.” Isaiah 25:8 “O death, where is your victory? Where is your power to hurt?” Hosea 13:14” ‭‭ ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬-‭5 “We know that our body—the tent we live in here on earth—will be destroyed. But when that happens, God will have a home for us to live in. It will not be the kind of home people build here. It will be a home in heaven that will continue forever. But now we are tired of this body. We want God to give us our heavenly home. It will clothe us and we will not be naked. While we live in this tent, we have burdens and so we complain. I don’t mean that we want to remove this tent, but we want to be clothed with our heavenly home. Then this body that dies will be covered with life. This is what God himself made us for. The Apostle Paul emphasizes that through faith in Christ, we are granted the privilege of being called children of God. This passage highlights a transformative truth: we are no longer slaves to sin or the law, but beloved heirs in His family. 🗝️The term “Abba, Father” illustrates an intimate relationship where we can come to God with the confidence and trust of a child.
