16 women, 3 chauffeur-driven 1960's Kombi vans, 1 Getting Lost Girls Road Trip game and absolutely no idea where we were going.... In the first van - the Matakana Girls. This group of women in their 60's inspired the creation of the Girls Road Trip. The second Kombi - Team Getting Lost - me, Jo and Ali - plus our sisters! And the third Kombi - Toy Shop owners from Christchurch and Auckland and their friends. We set off from Getting Lost HQ with absolutely no idea where we were going and our only guide for the day was the Girls Road Trip Edition of the Getting Lost Game. Our first card had us stopping at an op shop and dressing each other for the day. Some were kinder than others and its fair to say we had some spectacular outfits ranging from evening gowns, to 80's prom dresses to 50's pink ladies styles! Our direction and distance were determined by the number of significant exes belonging to the women in the van, the length of the longest friendship and the direction of a random red car. We went down a slide (and got all 16 of us on it!), raced into the ocean in our op shop finery, made daisy chains, had a whole bunch of laughs and finally ended up on a sunny deck in a quiet pub drinking wine and eating chips.
