🌿 BREAKING: Bill S-229 – Protection du Parc de la Gatineau🌿 Ce matin, j’étais aux côtés de la sénatrice Rosa Galvez pour annoncer le dépôt de notre projet de loi visant à accorder un statut juridique au Parc de la Gatineau. Il a maintenant été présenté au Sénat sous le nom de projet de loi S-229. En tant que députée de Pontiac–Kitigan Zibi, la protection de ce parc est une priorité personnelle. C’est un lieu d’une grande richesse écologique et culturelle, qui occupe une place particulière dans le cœur de notre région. Ce projet de loi renforce la protection écologique, officialise les limites du parc et consolide la collaboration avec les partenaires locaux et la Nation algonquine anishinabeg. Dans les mots du Chef de Kitigan Zibi, Jean-Guy Whiteduck : « Ce projet de loi ne se limite pas à préserver l'intégrité écologique du précieux parc de la Gatineau; il honore aussi notre lien avec la terre … Il reflète notre responsabilité collective de sauvegarder cet environnement unique pour nous-mêmes et les générations futures. » Un immense merci à mes collègues de la région de la capitale nationale pour leur soutien indéfectible, ainsi qu'à SNAP section vallée de l'Outaouais, ACRE, CREDDO, Kidjīmāninān et Commission de la capitale nationale pour leur précieuse contribution à la rédaction, et à Maude Marquis-Bissonnette, Jane Toller, Pierre Guénard, Guillaume Lamoureux, Marc Carrière et André Fortin pour leur appui. It has now been tabled in the Senate as Bill S-229. As the MP for Pontiac–Kitigan Zibi, protecting this park has been a personal priority. It is a place of deep ecological and cultural importance, and one that holds a special place in the hearts of so many. This bill will strengthen ecological protections, formalize the park’s boundaries, and reinforce collaboration with local partners and the Algonquin Anishinabeg Nation. In the words of Kitigan Zibi Chief Jean-Guy Whiteduck: “This bill not only aims to preserve the ecological integrity of the precious Gatineau Park; it also honours our connection to the land...
