Our big Funga Fair event is coming up THIS WEEKEND!! The Missouri Mycological Society's first ever Funga Fair will be at the Missouri Botanical Garden THIS Saturday, July 19th from 10am-4pm. This is a FREE event - included with general Garden admission. Hint: On Saturdays St. Louis City and County residents get FREE admission until noon. Here's what to expect: * Engaging and educational presentations by renowned mycologist Britt Bunyard (2:00PM) and MOMS head of research Mike Snyder (noon). They'll be sharing all kinds of fun mushroom stories and factoids and both are sure to be memorable talks! * A specimen table where our mycologists will share details about a variety of species collected just for the event. It's sure to be an incredible display! * Microscope demonstrations from mycologists Kerri McCabe and Brian Looney, including the opportunity to take an even closer look at our fungal friends and their tiniest features. * Informational table with details about how to become a member, info about other upcoming events, and MOMS T-shirts, hats and stickers for sale. * Various educational displays, mushroom art, and kids' activities. * Local vendors, including fresh, gourmet mushrooms for sale.
