This classification indicates a complex, multifragmentary fracture of the distal femur. After careful evaluation by the veterinary team, a decision was made to proceed with surgery to address the fracture. The procedure was performed by Dr. Lasha-Giorgi Japaridze, the Clinic’s Chief Veterinarian and Head of the Surgical Department. Dr. Japaridze has extensive experience in managing complex orthopedic injuries, making him uniquely qualified for such a challenging case. The surgery involved open fracture reduction, stabilized using a titanium T-locking plate, which provides optimal support for bone healing in companion animals. Dr. Japaridze was assisted by Barbare Kurtsikidze. Anesthesia, a critical component of the procedure, was managed by anesthesiologist Natia Robakidze. Her expertise ensured Guku’s safety and comfort throughout the surgery, carefully monitoring vital signs and adjusting the anesthetic plan as needed to accommodate the kitten’s fragile condition.
