There’s been a lot of talk about Black dating and economic exclusion, and while it’s true that historical systems have created barriers, it’s also important to look forward – not back. In this video, I’m responding to the viral TikTok where a guy argues that Black dating dynamics are tied to economic oppression and why we can’t date like other groups. But I’ll argue that the key to building Black wealth is not by sticking to outdated gender roles but by sharing the financial load. True partnerships in Black love mean both partners contributing to building a legacy. Join me as I dive into how shifting our mindset from the 1940s “provider vs. housekeeper” to a more modern, collaborative approach can help us reach true financial freedom and elevate our relationships.
