Equine Care Supervisor Position available. Pay rate $22 an hour to start and potential for pay raise to $25 an hour for the right candidate within 90 days of start date. At least five years’ experience with equines. Prior barn management experience is a plus. The job includes overseeing all aspects of equine care, ensuring a safe, healthy, and efficient environment for horses and staff. This includes daily care of the horses, staff management and maintaining the barn in a clean condition. Effective communication, strong leadership, and a passion for horses is crucial for success of our ideal candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing feeding, grooming, and overall health of the horses. This includes administering medications, assisting with veterinary and farrier appointments, and maintaining detailed records of each horse's health
Training, and supervising barn staff, creating work schedules, and ensuring staff adhere to safety and operational procedures.
Maintaining accurate records of horse health, staff information, inventory, and financial transactions.
Essential Skills:
Extensive horse knowledge: Strong understanding of equine nutrition, health, and general care.
Leadership and Management: Ability to motivate and supervise staff, delegate tasks effectively, and resolve conflicts.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain a well-organized workspace.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to horse care, facility maintenance, or staff performance.
Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, cleaning, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Financial Acumen: Understanding of budgeting and expense tracking
