The Vilas County EDC and Northland Pines School District (NPSD) are inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs through its new and unique Entrepreneurship Education Program - all designed to provide students with the necessary skills to start a business, and foster future economic growth!
Enjoy some photos from this past week where VCEDC staff and board members provided classroom instruction on Business Formation, Market Research (Kathy Schmitz, VCEDC Executive Director), Leadership (Erin McCormick, VP/Commercial Banker, Peoples Bank), Business Law (Milwaukee Attorney Bill Keeler), and Financial Management (Patty Krarup, Retired Wealth Management Firm). Special thanks to Northland Pines Superintendent Scott Foster, Principal Dan Marien, and Business Education Teacher Jake Richards, who commented:
“This partnership with VCEDC allows students to engage with real business professionals and envision themselves as entrepreneurs. Watching a student walk away from our entrepreneurship day saying, ‘I want to pursue law now because of today’ is exactly why we do this. It’s more than a class—it’s mentorship, skill-building, and future-planning all wrapped into one.”
Today was the VCEDC NPSD Shark Tank event to see which student business plan or plans stood out! Congratulations to all of the 100 NPSD students who participated in this awesome program! You're just the best!
