🔴 #Sudan is the only place in the world where famine has been confirmed. Millions are facing acute hunger, with humanitarian access and assistance severely constrained. More than 11.5 million people are now estimated to be internally displaced, of whom nearly 8.8 million people have been uprooted since the war broke out in April 2023. Meanwhile, more than 3.2 million others have fled to neighbouring countries. The devastation in Sudan is a man-made crisis. Hunger and starvation are spreading because of the decisions being made each day to continue the war, irrespective of the civilian cost. 🔴 Babies in #Gaza are freezing to death. At least 8 Palestinian infants have tragically died from hypothermia – the youngest just 3 days old. These tragic deaths were entirely preventable. Only a ceasefire and an end to Israel’s siege will stop more babies from freezing to death 💔 Families forcibly displaced by relentless bombing are left with flimsy, worn tents, flooded by rain and no access to proper food, healthcare or warmth. Babies are dying because basic necessities are systematically denied. This is a humanitarian catastrophe. A #CeasefireNOW and increased aid access are the only ways to prevent more innocent children from dying this winter.
