Congratulations to our Morgan 3 team for receiving a DAISY® Team Award! The DAISY Foundation has a national recognition program for nurses doing extraordinary work for patients and families and is among the highest accolades in the nursing profession. DAISY Team Awards are significant. Usually, DAISYs are given to individuals. Team awards honor collaboration by many people, including medical staff and nursing support personnel, for exceeding the traditional role of nursing in identifying and meeting patient and/or patient family needs. During Hurricane Milton, a nearby hospital had to evacuate and needed to transfer several of its most critically ill patients to us. Though busy caring for our own critically ill patients during the storm, the team never hesitated. They quickly turned their sleeping quarters into a makeshift intensive care unit (ICU). The Morgan 3 team worked tirelessly, along with leadership, respiratory therapists, the administrator on duty, surgeons, intensivists and many others to ensure all incoming patients received excellent care. We are so proud of this team and how they continually give of themselves to provide outstanding care day in and day out, but especially during Hurricane Milton. #BayCareProud

Once the vibrant heart of her family, Mdm Shi Qiuxia now lies in a hospital bed after enduring multiple high-risk surgeries and over 20 days in intensive care. Seeing her so fragile after years of boundless energy has left her family grappling with an indescribable pain.
