Ecstatic Dance Whitstable is a unique, sober, music and dance experience. A collaborative space where we explore expression of self through dance, movement and community connection. An opportunity to release, let go, energise, and come home to ourselves. Led by Hannah, Charlotte and Lewis - A team of passionate DJs, Holistic Practitioners/Therapists, and Friends. Together we use our combined skillset to transform halls in to temple spaces with psychedelic visuals, live percussion and state-of-the-art sound equipment. We are supported by an A class team of guest DJ's, friends and volunteers whose energy enriches each event. Making it a safe and welcoming space for all participants. August session - DJ Lewis Edwards Each event has its own unique vibe. We alternate DJs each month, each bringing their own musical delights. Ecstatic Dance uses a range of sounds, tempos and genres both melodic and energetic to facilitate a music and dance journey. We open and close the session ceremonially with Cacao and sound instruments such as Gongs, and Sound Bowls. Ecstatic Dance is open to all. Wether it is your first time or you have been many times before. 7.00pm - The Doors Open Tea is available with some time to get comfortable before we start 7.30pm The Doors Close and Locked We come into a circle, welcome introduction and words. Cacao sharing and short warm up. 8.00pm -9.30pm Dance to the DJ of the night. 1.5 Hours Live DJ Set. Mixed Genre and Tempo. 9.30pm - 10.00pm We get comfortable, melt and surrender to the sound bath. 10.00pm Session Ends. All welcome to stay in the space and connect with each other as we pack up This event is a free form/freestyle dance and movement with no exceptions or choreography, a place to play and explore, or just be.. Come with an open and curious heart This is a journey from start to finish. Please arrive by 7.30pm at the latest. The doors will be locked and unfortunately there will be no entry after this point. WHAT TO BRING Comfortable clothes that you can move in A bottle of water Bring an optional Yoga Mat and Blanket for the Sound Bath. You’ll be lying down, and your body temperature will drop as you relax, which is why a blanket is recommended. Children are very welcome but please be mindful not to disrupt other dancers. You may want to bring a snack. THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN YOU ARE JOINING ECSTATIC DANCE Move however you wish, respect yourself and those around you Please respect this is a Drug-Free, Smoke-Free, Alcohol-Free environment. We suggest shoes off to stay grounded, But of course something light if your feet require support We ask for no talking during the main dance. To help us dive deep quickly into the dance journey and our own experience. Please, no photos or videos, Mobile phones muted and out of sight to stay present and contained. There is a tier system to make it accessible to everyone based on your honesty. If you are able to pay for the full Admission this will really support the event greatly. Welkom bij Ecstatic Dance Gent. Elke vrijdagavond in een prachtig mooie zaal aan Dok Noord. Deze editie komt DJ INDI MYSTICA haar muziek delen! 🔥🪘🧡💃🕺🪘🧡🔥 Dansers welkom vanaf 19u30. Er speelt muziek in de zaal en iedereen komt in stilte binnen. Tijd om aan te komen, stretchen, jezelf in te dansen en op te warmen. 20u00 openingscirkel en begeleide opwarming * Deur en kassa zijn open tussen 19u30 en 20u15. Daarna gaat het dicht. Gelieve dus op tijd te komen. 20:30 Start Ecstatic Dance muzikale reis met DJ INDI MYSTICA In de 20 jaar dat INDI MYSTICA zich als dj ontwikkelde, evolueerde haar stijl van enkel wereldmuziek en world beat naar een meer elektronisch geluid. Ze behield steeds de multiculturele, wereldse en diepe natuurklanken in haar sets. Haar stijl varieert nu van deep chill, downtempo tot world beat/world fusion, melodic deep house tot deep tribal- en melodic techno. INDI MYSTICA'S unieke stijl werd zeer goed ontvangen bij de ecstatic dance gemeenschap in 2018, en sindsdien speelde ze op ecstatic dance events in België, Nederland, Spanje, Frankrijk, Bretagne, Duitsland en Zwitserland. INDI MYSTICA heeft een missie om meer diepgang te brengen en doet altijd haar best om - middels haar muziekkeuzes - het volledige scala aan emoties te raken. Niet altijd de meest comfortabele muziek, soms met harde hand, soms met een zachte toets, maar altijd precies datgene om je meer tot de diepte te brengen. Haar muziek is aards, eerlijk, gedegen en gedurfd. Gebruik je lichaam om ten volle tot expressie te komen. We dansen op blote voeten (zachte dansschoenen ook toegelaten). Er is een grote parketvloer. We houden van een goed geluidsysteem, de ruimte is gezellig ingericht en we voorzien drinkwater en fruit. Een gevoel van veiligheid is bij ons belangrijk. Solo dansers zijn helemaal welkom bij ons. Dans je graag in verbinding met anderen? Dans samen wanneer je beide een JA voelt. Draag zorg voor jezelf en respecteer elkaars grenzen. Geen alcohol en drugs toegelaten. Het is niet toegelaten om foto's of filmpjes te maken. Zie of voel je dingen die tegen de guidelines ingaan? Blijf er niet mee zitten en deel het in het moment met de ceremonieleider.
