Remarkable affection
🎾 Stock up on the squeaky toys! Lucky is in the house! After a long recovery, this boy is finally ready for his forever home.
💛 Lucky’s favorite toys squeak, and he always needs to take one outside. You noticed that Lucky doesn’t have eyes. He’s adapted well to life as a blind dog and has learned to navigate the house just fine. He responds to his name and recalls well when he’s in his fenced yard.
🏡 Lucky is a bit of a couch potato—very happy to hang in the house all day, sometimes on any available couch by himself or next to one of his people. Lucky prefers female dogs and likes cats too. They will rub up against him, and he continues his business.
🐾 He is crate trained and will happily go in his crate. He is also house-trained and has never had an accident in his foster home. He knows a few commands, including sit and shake, and he’s eager to learn more.
💙 It is truly remarkable how Lucky has adapted to life without sight. He is a master at mapping his environment and can navigate a large barnyard space—chickens included! He is learning to connect with people, stay close, and accept physical affection from people since he can't see it coming!
Lucky’s backstory:
Lucky didn't deserve what happened to him in his past, but TCDR gave him the opportunity to create a better life and future for himself. He was found injured in a ditch. Once we got him to the vet, it appeared that he’d been sprayed in the face with a chemical that damaged both of his eyes. The vet tried to save his vision, but the damage was too extensive, leaving Lucky blind and in immense pain. Both of Lucky’s eyes were removed. And if that wasn't enough, he also had heartworms. Thanks to our incredible supporters who donated to his care, Lucky is finally ready for his new beginning!
🐶 Lucky has been treated for heartworms, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He is about 5 years old, weighs 32 pounds, and has a long tail.
❤️ We invite you to visit our website and start your application today. Lucky definitely deserves his happily ever after, so let's help him find it!
