Did you know nearly half of South Carolina high school students have used disposable vapes? These products are designed to appeal to kids with flavors like cotton candy and bubble gum, and they’re disguised as everyday school supplies—pens, highlighters, and USB drives.
It’s no wonder schools across the state are struggling to keep vapes out of classrooms and hallways. Districts are working hard, implementing policies and detection devices to safeguard students' health. But they can’t do it alone.
This year, the South Carolina General Assembly has the chance to take action. By regulating the sale of disposable, flavored vapes, our leaders can help parents, teachers, and law enforcement protect our youth. Join us in urging lawmakers to address this urgent crisis.
