Today, I had the honor of participating in the Corpus Christi procession from Saints John & Paul in Larchmont, NY to St. Augustine's. I was humbled to be asked to carry one of the banners on short notice. As we prayed for world peace, I added a personal intention for the safety of the new friends I made in Israel this past February. London’s Streets Come Alive with Colour and Faith During Corpus Christi Procession 22 June 2025 LONDON — Hundreds of Catholics filled the streets of central London today for the annual Corpus Christi Procession, one of the capital’s most vibrant public displays of faith. Clergy, religious orders, nuns, and lay faithful gathered after morning Mass at St James’s Spanish Place, processing through the bustling shopping districts of Oxford Street and Regent Street, bringing solemn prayer and colourful banners into the heart of the city. This year’s event drew a particularly diverse crowd — nuns from multiple orders, including the Missionaries of Charity, could be seen chanting and carrying prayer books, accompanied by lay participants from all walks of life. Tourists and shoppers paused to watch as the Eucharist, carried under an ornate canopy, passed by in reverent silence. Public expressions of religious faith in such a commercial and multicultural setting are increasingly rare, making today’s procession both a spiritual celebration and a cultural moment for London. “This is a way of bringing our faith into the public square,” said one participant. “To witness so many kneeling in the street in prayer — it’s something quite moving.” Corpus Christi, meaning Body of Christ, is celebrated by Catholics worldwide to honour the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Petal baskets will be provided! Jesus walks with us every single day—through every joy, challenge, and quiet moment. This is our chance to walk with Him—to honor His presence and publicly witness our love for the Eucharist.
