Why I give: Emma Lowe 🫶 Many times, nonprofit organizations need extra helping hands. It takes a village to get some tasks done in a reasonable amount of time, and that’s where I come in. It can be something as simple as collecting aluminum pop tabs (also known as pull tabs) for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). Funds from recycling pop tabs are used to cover the utilities to operate their facilities. That means they can put more money and effort toward helping families of children receiving medical treatment. At an Operation Warm event, there are hundreds of children who need to be fitted for shoes or jackets. Volunteers are there to help. At Adopt-a-Native-Elder Program events, volunteers pack hundreds of food boxes for the elders of Native American tribes that rely on these staple foods. By supporting our communities, we are making a huge impact on people’s lives while also showing how much we care for one another. #WhyIgive #MPCgives #MarathonPetroleum #SaltLakeCity #Utah

We managed to achieve so much within our community in 2024 here at Asda Stenhousemuir. Nine local groups benefited from Asda Foundation grassroots grants totalling £4,643, while £1,000 was awarded to KLSB through a Foodbank Fundamentals grant. Eighty two groups received donations of goods totalling £1,588.18, while 67 groups came into store to fundraise or raise awareness of what they do. A total of 106 groups received a donation of my time via outreach. Meanwhile 484 children benefited from a Better Starts session across three schools, and 309 children took part in various Big Help Out litter picks. More than £2,800 was raised for Tickled Pink, £628.39 was raised for BBC Children In Need at our store and local primary schools received £8,061.52 through our Cashpot For Schools initiative.
