Working together, learning together. “Umuganda” is a concept meaning “coming together around a common goal to achieve a result”. This idea perfectly encapsulates modern conservation initiatives across Africa, including the recent construction of a community classroom in the Ennedi region of Chad. This joint initiative with the people of the town of Fada will provide a workspace for two teachers, who will focus on women’s literacy and environmental education programmes.
