cátodo is a non-profit organization focused on rescuing and protecting abandoned cats. Our mission includes promoting adoption, raising awareness about animal welfare, and collaborating with local entities to improve conditions for cats. We also aim to build shelters in Fuerteventura, where none currently exist, providing a safe space for cats in need. Through workshops, fundraising events, and partnerships , we work to create a more compassionate environment for cats.

𝗕𝗼𝗯𝗯𝘆 𝗕𝗼𝘆’𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀 🐾🎄 Back in February, we introduced you to Bobby Boy, one of our permanent fosters. When Bobby Boy came into our care, we thought he had a bright future ahead. We saved him from a horrific fate, and after having his entropion eyelids fixed and being desexed, we believed he was on the path to a happy, healthy life. But tragedy struck. Bobby Boy had an adverse reaction to the surgery, and post-surgical complications sent him into renal failure. The damage was irreversible, and his prognosis became grim. We braced ourselves to say goodbye far too soon. But Bobby Boy had other plans. After over a week in hospital, Bobby Boy stabilised enough to go home to one of our specialist care fosters. Our goal was to give him time – a few weeks or months – to be loved, pampered, and cherished. We didn’t dare dream of Christmas. But Bobby Boy has surpassed every expectation. On Wednesday, it will be Christmas. Bobby Boy will celebrate safe, warm, and loved. He remains a renal failure cat, and his time in this world is sadly shortened. But for now, he’s not just surviving – he’s thriving. And we’ll keep loving him for as long as we have him. 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀. We don’t ask for help all that often. We don’t ask for donations every week or for every single nightmare case that crawls into our care. Times are tough for everyone, especially now. So we just do the work that needs to be done, diligently and steadily in the background. But… it’s Christmas. And there are so many little lives depending on us to keep them safe, warm, and loved. There’s Bobby Boy, who has defied all the odds, and every other emergency and urgent case in the background that just keeps coming without respite. 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝘄𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀.
