It was a powerful tribute to five decades of Carnival in Belize, honoring the vibrant culture, artistic brilliance, and resilience that have shaped this beloved tradition. As a sponsor of the Gala and a longstanding supporter, the Belize City Council was also honored with a special award in recognition of its continued contributions to the growth and success of Carnival in Belize City. In his address, Deputy Mayor Miller paid homage to the trailblazers who laid the foundation, celebrated the young visionaries now carrying the torch, and reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to uplifting culture, empowering communities, and protecting our rich Belizean heritage.
