Outstanding body
We don’t just celebrate student success — we’re proud of our teachers’ achievements too! 🌟 Congratulations to Scott Allsop, History teacher at BSB, who has been elected as an Associate Fellow of the Royal Historical Society — an honour granted in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the field of History.
Founded in 1868, the Royal Historical Society is the UK’s foremost society for historians and history and champions historical scholarship in schools, higher education and across the heritage sector. 📚 Associate Fellowship of the Society is awarded in recognition of the contribution made by individuals with an established body of work that promotes History to others.
🗣️ Scott Allsop said: I’m thrilled to have been elected an Associate Fellow and for my contribution to History to be recognised by the Society, particularly as I am passionate about engaging young people and the wider public. As a classroom History teacher, it’s a great honour to join such an esteemed community that includes some of my ‘History Heroes’. I feel lucky to have worked at BSB for the past decade, where I have been supported and encouraged to pursue my wider interests in History, as well as having had the opportunity to contribute to the development of BSB’s teaching and learning of the subject.
As well as inspiring students in the classroom, Scott is the creator of an award-winning website supporting IGCSE & A-Level learners, runs the widely followed HistoryPod YouTube channel, has authored two bestselling books and has featured on national TV programmes about European History. 🎥
We’re proud to have incredible educators like Scott shaping young minds at BSB! 👏
