Vivid church
In vivid (sometimes shocking) images of the future, the Book of Revelation portrays the triumphant finale of God’s just rule throughout all of creation. John’s visions stretch our imaginations, fuel our anticipation, and comfort us as we await the final curtain call. The words are mysterious for those who don’t know how to make sense of them. Join Pastor Jim Beard for this series where the aim will be to make more sense of things, thereby opening our souls to the many riches offered here.
There are two sections to this class:
Sundays 11:15am – 12:15pm starting January 19
or Tuesdays 9:30am – 10:30am starting January 21
Recordings of each week's class will also be available for those who are unable to attend all our part of this class in-person.
Classes will meet for 4 Consecutive Weeks in the Fireside Room of Good Samaritan UMC. Weekly sessions will cover the same material, so feel free to attend whichever time is convenient for you; simply sign-up below to indicate which option you are most apt to attend. Only those options which indicate an interest from 8 or more participants will likely be offered.
Bring your Bible to each class session. If you need of a Bible, the church will be happy to assist you in finding one you may like. It will be most helpful to read the 22 chapters of this most intriguing book throughout our four weeks together. The weekly schedule will be as follows:
Week 1 -- 7 Hand-Held Stars and Other First Impressions
Week 2 -- 144,000 and Other Odd Numbers
Week 3 -- A Dragon with 7 Heads, 100 lb. Hailstones, and Other Bizarre Images
Week 4 -- Golden Pavement & Extreme Urban Design Features
This class is free to attend, and open to both those who attend Good Samaritan and those in the broader community. Childcare can be provided if arranged for in advance.
