BURDEN OF PROOF is an immersive theatre production by Dabble Dabble Jer Collective in Penang exploring the lived experiences of sexual violence. Shaped by stories gathered from victim-survivors through an open call in 2023, BURDEN OF PROOF exists to hold space for what is often left unspoken and to stand in the silence that has lingered for far too long. Held at Papan Haus in Klang Valely, the show runs for approx 105 minutes. The stories heard in this space invites us all into stillness, into listening, and into action—offering not only room for reflection, but a sense of hope: for healing, for justice, and for a future shaped by empathy. At the venue we are also exhibiting THE QUIET SPACE, an installation created as a space for contemplation and collective response to the enduring realities of sexual violence in our communities. It is both a sacred space and a call to awareness, centering more voices and lived experiences of victim-survivors through artistic and participatory expression.
