28th June to 6th July – Trenance Cottages Exhibition Annual art exhibition and craft sale at Trenance Cottages. Affordable art and handmade gifts in a stunning location. This is a brilliant opportunity to buy something original and unique from Newquay’s very best artists, with the added benefit of shopping local and supporting the community. We have a wide range of local original art, fine art greeting cards for any occasion and a charming selection of hand made crafts and gifts for that authentic Cornish present. With over 20 artists exhibiting it's going to be a great show this year! From 28th June to 6th July at Trenance Cottages Pop in to say hi, admire the art, vote for your favourite and find out more about the society. As well as this exhibition we have Tuesday artist demonstrations and a Wednesday painting group through the winter season, it’s a great opportunity to meet like-minded artists and be inspired! Our artists also steward the exhibition so it’s a great opportunity to meet some of the artists who are part of the society and exhibiting. Yet, when a sudden tide of memory washes over us, those forgotten feelings resurface, akin to a mellow vintage wine, leaving a unique aftertaste in our hearts. The journey of life, though interwoven with both joy and sorrow, reveals upon reflection that we have always been well, perhaps just too prone to forgetting the beauty we've experienced. Following our inaugural solo exhibition in Hong Kong back in 2017, we embarked on our second personal artistic journey in Manchester, UK, in 2024. Between 2009 and 2013, she studied Painting at Pamukkale University’s Faculty of Fine Arts. In 2015, she was appointed to Istanbul and began teaching painting. She continues her work as a painting teacher while expressing her lifelong inner turmoil through her art, producing in her studio. The artist explores the concept of reality, emphasizing the changing perception of reality through the illusion effect of perceptual variability. She presents the illusion of the changing concept of reality through two primary materials: a sieve and a net. While separating the body, mind, and spirit triad, she presents them as a whole with the transparent structure that reflects the illusion effect of the material. The artist presents existential states such as fear, loneliness, indecision, instability, escape, aggression, and refuge—felt from the knowledge that one will die while living—through a futuristic attitude, using the contrast of existence and non-existence. The multiplicity of the figures also highlights the difficulty of decision-making, presenting the mental process of action options before one makes a choice. “Painted Seasons,” a stunning solo exhibition by Ojai artist Anne Ward, will premiere Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Santa Paula Art Museum with a premiere party from 4 PM to 6 PM! Ward, who grew up in Los Angeles, is obsessed with the intersection of light, color, and pattern. Her garden is her favorite subject and, like it, Ward’s paintings are teeming with energy and joy. The upcoming exhibit features over 50 paintings executed in oil, acrylic, and gouache. The majority of the artworks will be available for purchase.
