As we eagerly await the release of our Special Edition: Through the Garden Gate, we’re already planning ahead for our next Special Edition! This upcoming issue will celebrate Americana with a classic red, white, and blue theme and will also highlight Civil War artifacts. Now is your chance to be featured in A Primitive Place! We’ll be re-featuring some familiar homeowners, but we’re especially looking for new homes and antiques to showcase. Since these editions are highly specialized, we want a diverse selection of homes and collections. High-quality, well-lit photos are a must—so if needed, enlist a friend or family member to help capture the perfect shots! Looking ahead to 2026, we’re also preparing a Valentine’s Day booklet, which will focus on heartwarming primitive decor. We’d love to see your creative displays featuring hearts, cupids, red, white, and pink accents, fabric pillows, antique Valentine’s Day cards, rustic keys and locks, wooden “XOXO” blocks, primitive dolls, and rustic signs. We’d love to see your Americana, Valentine’s Day, and Civil War antiques for a chance to be featured in either issue. For the Americana/Civil War Special Edition, we’re particularly interested in Civil War memorabilia such as uniforms, flags, ammunition, firearms, letters, maps, coins and currency, medical supplies, quilts, and more—think of it as our own version of Antiques Roadshow! This issue will be published in late May, with work beginning in the coming weeks.
