Comfortable diagnosis
Rochelle loves being around other people—she enjoys spending time with her daughter, laughing with her best friend and caring for patients as a nurse for 20 years. But in 2022, a breakdown and diagnosis of bipolar depression and seizure disorder threatened her independence, livelihood and social life. She found hope and community at Goodwill's A Place of Our Own Clubhouse where she met people who truly understood her journey.
At the Clubhouse, she learned new skills working at the reception desk where she enthusiastically greets people, answers phones, and gets to know every new member personally. "If I did not have the clubhouse to come to, I would be stuck at home without socialization," admits Rochelle. "The staff really helped me come out of my shell and make me comfortable."
