I really like this painting of mine.
Two cats, gazing intently, captured on the stairs back home.
It feels like the cats are former owners of the place,
watching over a newcomer to the world.
There‘s a sense of humanity’s past being quietly observed.
Through Van Gogh‘s colors,
We connect to his understanding of suffering.
Through Monet’s serene water lilies,
We find the inner stillness of the present.
Through Matisse‘s wild, untamed Fauvist brushstrokes,
We feel a sense of freedom.
And through our own life experiences,
We discover the meaning.
Stepping out of life and death,
We lose the chance to experience the meaning.
Yet we forget—
Careers, love, family, children, or the special one—
They are not the destination or the goal.
They are merely a character in our life.
The true protagonist,
Is the journey of our souls.
It is the soul learning, amidst the chaos of the world,
To distill the essence of time, gaze inward, and find stillness in the present.
Like in this painting, Gaze,
It is the soul that gazes—
The only purpose is to carry away the essence of its experiences:
nobility, grace, the virtues of the heart.
Not to cling to a certain character,
A fleeting attachment,
Or the glass slipper of fame and fortune that the soul once wore.
