【問空間｜展覽】臺北一館 日期：2025.7.12～2025.9.14 開幕茶會：2025.07.19 3:30PM 座談會：2025.08.09 2:30PM 《伽利略羽毛》– 張乃文 個展 《𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐯𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐮𝐦.》– 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐆,𝐍𝐀𝐈-𝐖𝐄𝐍 阿波羅15號太空船登月後實驗了伽利略的重力實驗，羽毛與鐵槌在接近真空狀態的月球同時著地。科學家的理性邏輯推論加上卓越的想像能力，帶出超越慣性思維的見解。 這真空的羽毛具有超越現實的真理隱喻，此次以伽利略羽毛作為展覽命名在回應來自於現實事件的現象思考與翻轉想像，雖然目的並不在於如科學一般追求理性真理，也不希望假科學之名行藝術之實，但希望在感性自由的想像下運作現實所給予的表象，並試圖創造出能有效脫離這個已經全面現實化的藝術社會，讓作品產生自己說話的可能。 當喊著反中心主義的跨域媒體藝術家普遍成為檯面上主流藝術的領銜人，充斥各美術館、雙年展，藝術家自娛於無主體性的當代跨域文化語境，如同服務業般。 在當代，藝術有何社會責任，為誰服務，往往勝過了藝術感人的初衷、藝術形式的想像魅力。對於各種社會現實系統的參照讓作品表面上的形式多元化互動參與，藝術家忙錄於服務公眾，無暇面對藝術的根本問題。 在此，作為簡單的藝術家以簡單的方式創作，在沒有當代浮力干擾下，如同真空中直接墜地的羽毛，直接了當無所懸念，當是最佳狀態。 如果有人從中滿足於現實事件的意識形態與意義解讀，亦無不可。畢竟在物理世界中的真空一詞，到了佛教性空思想中與妙有產生了超譯的聯接。在似有似無的關係概念化過程，語言也當然的激起了謬思。 After the Apollo 15 lunar landing, astronauts performed Galileo's gravity experiment: a feather and a hammer dropped simultaneously onto the moon’s surface, landing at the same time in near - vacuum conditions. The rational logic of scientists, paired with extraordinary imagination, led to insights that transcended habitual modes of thinking. The feather in vacuum becomes a metaphor for truth beyond reality. This exhibition, titled after Galileo’s feather, responds to phenomena from real-life events and inverts the framework of imagination. Although it does not aim — like science — to pursue rational truth, nor does it intend to cloak art in the name of pseudo-science, it seeks to operate within the surface reality given to us, guided by emotive freedom and imagination. It attempts to carve out a space for art to speak for itself, away from a fully reality-driven art world. In a time when anti-centralist, cross-disciplinary media artists dominate the mainstream art scene — filling museums and biennials, indulging in subject-less contemporary cultural contexts akin to the service industry—the question arises: what is the social responsibility of art today, and who does it serve? These questions now often outweigh the original power of art to move, to imagine new forms. Artists become entangled in public service, with little room left to confront the fundamental concerns of art itself. Here, to simply create as a simple artist — unburdened by the resistance of contemporary trends — is to fall, as the feather in vacuum does: direct, unhesitant, without distraction. That must be the ideal state. If some find satisfaction in interpreting the work through the lens of ideological or symbolic meanings tied to real-world events, that too is welcome. After all, the term "vacuum" in physics has found a poetic correspondence with the Buddhist concept of śūnyatā (true emptiness), connecting metaphorically to the idea of "wondrous existence".
