A study published in the Open Access journal Oceans presents the first-ever documented observation of tongue nibbling between wild orca whales in Norway. The study, cited by New York Post, describes the detailed recordings of the observations on the 31st of October 2024, at 13:30 during a snorkelling expedition, providing video evidence of the wholesome interaction. The study provides exciting and novel information on whale behaviours. The authors emphasise the importance of marine habitat and wildlife preservation, so we can learn more about their authentic behaviours in the wild.
