🎖️ “Trapped (Military Remix)” – Inspired by Yo Gotti (Military Mentality Meets Real-Life Reality) (Hook) I’m trapped, I’m trapped I got ranks on my chest, but I feel like I’m under attack I gave ‘em my youth, now they question how I act They want discipline, but don’t care if we crack I’m trapped, I’m trapped (Verse 1) Clocked in with a salute, boots laced like a vet But the weight on my spirit? Man, it ain’t left yet They cut benefits, cut culture, say “fit the mold” But I’m tryna be bold while still doin’ what I’m told I led troops through the storm, gave sweat for the flag But they trippin’ on my fade and my daughter’s silk rag Man, we serve with our soul, they just see the stat sheets Talkin’ readiness while our homes got cracked leaks Can’t show pain, gotta grin through the stress They don’t see the PTSD—just inspectin’ my dress Told my Airman “speak up,” now I’m catchin’ the heat Can’t lead from the front when they snatchin’ your seat (Hook) I’m trapped, I’m trapped Say “warrior ethos” but they want me to act Like I’m not Black, or femme, or speak with tact Mission first—but who got my back? I’m trapped, I’m trapped (Verse 2) I ain’t tryna just complain, I’m tryna fix this But you can’t heal wounds with a checklist They scream “diversity”—just a slide in the brief Then penalize truth when we speak our belief I’m tired, Chief. I’m tired, Ma’am. Still show up clean with the sharpest salutes I can But who trains the leaders on how to lead US? Not just preach values, but embody trust? From the DFAC to the fight, we grind on low fumes Tryna mentor the young while we carry our wounds They told me “resilience”—but I need restoration Not just IG reports and forced celebrations (Hook) I’m trapped, I’m trapped Wanna serve, but it feel like a trap Where my purpose and my pain overlap Where the oath and my identity clash I’m trapped, I’m trapped (Outro – Spoken) So this ain’t just a vent, it’s a call to see us… Not just the rank, but the person beneath it We ain’t perfect, but we’re loyal, we’re tired but resilient We’re trapped between pride and a system indifferent. Let us breathe. Let us lead. Let us be. #TrappedMilitaryEdition #MilitaryMentalHealth #VeteranVoices #UnfilteredService #CultureInUniform #LeadWithEmpathy #PressureIsAPrivilege #MilitaryLeadershipMatters #IdentityInService #ResilientNotSilent #ThePeoplesPlayer #PurposeOverPerformance #DEIinUniform #BuiltDifferentStillServing #MilitaryTruthTellers #MilitaryPoetry #HealingThroughHipHop #VoicesFromTheRanks #ChiefTalk #RetiredNotRemoved

The American dream is about the freedom to build a life rich in relationships, family, and community. But today, systemic flaws in our welfare system are holding people back. Policies often discourage work, penalize marriage, and create barriers to self-sufficiency. Read the proposed solutions from our president and CEO, Randy Hicks👇

Strengthening St. Paul,: Productive Council Engagement Last night, I met with Mayor Maureen Miller, Deputy Mayor Norm Noel, and Councillors Ron Boisvert, Brad Eamon, Sid Sood, Nathan Taylor, and Gary Ward for a focused and meaningful discussion on the priorities that matter most to the people of St. Paul. We covered a wide range of local concerns — from health care and housing to safety and infrastructure — and I want to commend Council for how strongly and effectively they advocate for their community. They come to the table informed, united, and solution-focused, with a clear understanding of the real-life impact of the decisions we make. Key topics we addressed: The Need for a New Senior Lodge: Council stressed the urgent need for a new supportive living lodge in St. Paul. While Sunnyside Manor has served the community well, it’s clear that a modern facility is now required to meet growing demand. I’ll be advocating for this project with the Minister of Seniors, Community and Social Services. St. Paul Hospital & CT Scanner: We welcomed the completed emergency room renovations — a much-needed improvement for front-line care. However, the reality remains that St. Paul Hospital, built in 1926, is now the oldest in Alberta. Council highlighted the importance of planning for future upgrades to ensure long-term sustainability. The community-led CT scanner campaign has seen remarkable progress, with over $200,000 raised by the St. Paul & District Hospital Foundation. This equipment will significantly improve access to diagnostic services and support physician recruitment. I remain committed to advocating for provincial support to help bring this vital project across the finish line. Highway 36 & 29 – St. Brides Intersection: The intersection at Highway 36 and Highway 29 near St. Brides continues to be a serious safety concern. Council shared past incidents and called for urgent improvements. I’ve committed to bringing this to Alberta Transportation and requesting a formal safety review. Healthcare Workforce Retention: We also discussed the need to support and retain the skilled healthcare professionals serving the St. Paul region. Council offered practical ideas — including rural incentives, housing options, and community integration — which I will raise directly with the Minister of Health. What stood out most is how proactive and unified this Council is. They don’t just identify challenges — they come prepared with thoughtful, practical solutions. It’s a model of leadership that puts community first. I’m proud to work alongside the Town of St. Paul and will continue ensuring their concerns are heard at the provincial level. #StPaulAB #MLAUpdate #RuralLeadership #SeniorsCare #NewLodge #Healthcare #CTScanner #EmergencyRoom #HighwaySafety #HealthCareHeroes #WorkingTogether #StrongerTogether

Health & Personal Care

TELL SENATOR HOWARD MARKLEIN (R-Spring Green) that his 35% and 37.5% general special education reimbursement rates are a far cry from what’s needed. Tell the Senator to reimburse general special education by at least 60%. With a surplus of $4 billion in Wisconsin’s pocket, this can be accomplished with no additional increases for taxpayers! Lawmakers have repeatedly failed to fund special education at the appropriate rate. Sixty percent reimbursement would fairly fund schools for the specialized services they provide by law, but the Joint Finance Committee has only proposed 35%-37%. At that rate, our local schools must dip into general revenue to backfill special education costs. This harms all students and all programming in our schools, special education students or not, and may impede progress in future. Contact JFC Members in your area to support better special education funding at 60%, so all students can thrive. *** More details below in comments. *THIS IS AN INFORMATIONAL POST ONLY.
