On the 13th of December 2023, Mustafa Sheta was taken at gunpoint from his home by Israel. Letters To Mustafa, became a global campaign, uniting people from around the world in a powerful act of solidarity—each one writing a letter of hope and support. On March 30th, 2025, after a long, unjust and violent detention, Mustafa was finally released. THE DATE: 8th June 2025. Meet from 12:00, ride start 14:00. The ride will take approx 2 1/2hrs. Why is it happening? The Cardiff ride is part of the global World Naked Bike Ride protests (wiki.worldnakedbikeride.org) https://diffwnbr.wixsite.com/cardiff-world-naked ... This global protest is designed to highlight the vulnerability of cyclists against traffic in cities, offering the human body as a contrast against high powered metal machines. Its aim is to create an awareness of this vulnerability and point out both the inadequate provision for safe cycling and an over reliance of cars in our city centres. It can also be viewed as a celebration of our bodies. Where is it? The route starts from the car park on Colum Drive (rear of Aberconway Hall) The What3words location are theme.gender.drama. The ride will take in a varied part of our city, including the city centre area, Cardiff Bay including the Senedd building, St Mary Street and will terminate at the car park. This year we will be starting and finishing the ride at the same place. Please note that the nearest toilet facilities will be in the museum, as we do not have access to the university buildings. Start and end point location: Colum Drive, (rear of Aberconway Hall). Cardiff. The What3words location are moon.valid.trains There may be facility for people to leave bags/clothes AT YOUR OWN RISK at the car park during the duration of the ride. When do I need to be there? Please meet at the car park from 12:00 onwards for bike and body preparation. The ride is scheduled to depart from this location at 14:00 hrs. Body painting can be done here, in addition to adding flags and banners to bikes. We hope to have a bike mechanic in place who can assist with any mechanical related issues. Please bring bells, horns, whistles. This year we will also have portable sound system accompanying us on the ride! Naked? This is indeed the World Naked Bike Ride but you do not have to be fully naked if you do not want to be. 'As Bare as You Dare' is the theme. From past experience we have seen that many people start out partly dressed but somehow end up disrobing en route! Fancy dress is also a popular alternative! A few pointers • There are usually a number of people happy to lend a hand in body painting, but if you have paints or are willing to get some, please do. •Slogan suggestion ideas can be downloaded from https://wiki.worldnakedbikeride.org/wiki/Slogans please print those and attach to your bike. • This is a good natured and friendly event. Many people describe it as having a 'carnival like' atmosphere despite its serious message. • Spread the word among your friends. The more people in the protest, the better the impact will be. Invite them through Facebook. • Being naked in public in Britain is not against the law. (It's just what you do while naked that matters!) • Fancy dress/masks also welcome! The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign, supported by over 150 Irish civil society organisations, has called another National Demonstration for Palestine on Saturday 25th December. By 25th January there will likely be a new government in place, and we need to let them know that that we are done with excuses - we want meaningful sanctions on Apartheid Israel, and we want them now! SANCTIONS NOW! PASS THE OTB, DIVESTMENT BILL, & ARMS EMBARGO BILL! STOP ARMING ISRAEL! END GAZA GENOCIDE! END ISRAELI APARTHEID! FREEDOM AND JUSTICE FOR PALESTINE! For more than a year now, Gaza has known only death, destruction and displacement. Health officials report at least 46,000 Palestinians have been murdered in Israel’s genocide - a new study in the prestigious medical journal The Lancet suggests the figure is really around 70,000. This includes more than 17,500 children, including 80 who've been killed or died of hypothermia already this year. 10,000 more are missing, their fates unknown. Around 100,000 people have been injured in Israeli attacks. Famine and disease stalk the land, while the healthcare system has been eviscerated. Almost 2 million people have been displaced, made homeless, and living precariously knowing that at any moment the worst may happen to them or their loved ones. And now they are facing the cold, harsh winter. And all the while, Western governments have allowed this to happen – whether by actively facilitating Apartheid Israel’s brutal onslaught, or by doing absolutely nothing to stop it. This has to end – we need to tell the new government we want the Occupied Territories Bill, the Illegal Israeli Settlements Divestment Bill, and the Arms Embargo Bill passed, and end to the use of Irish airports and airspace to transfer weapons, we want Israel kicked out of the EU-Israel Association Agreement, the breaking diplomatic relations. In short, we want sanctions now! Bring friends and family! Bring noise and hope! Let’s make our voices heard force the new government to TAKE ACTION NOW!

Silence from our government, as the Israeli military kidnapped Dr Hussam Abu Safiya, Director of the destroyed Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya in Northern Gaza on Friday 29 December and took him to the notorious Sde Teiman detention camp in Israel. Silence, as babies died of cold in the bitter wet winter, as aid tents were flooded with pouring rain, where families could not keep their children warm or dry. Silence, as Israel continued to strangle the movement of aid into Gaza, especially into the north, where people are starving. Silence, as footage floods our social media of desperate packs of starving dogs eating the flesh of dead and wounded Palestinians lying in Gaza streets and ruins of bombed out buildings. And continued silence from our government about its obligations to uphold international law in the face of calls from United Nations' agencies and thousands of letters, emails and messages from ordinary Australians demanding that we act according to International Law.
