🧼 Why do some stains get worse after cleaning?
It’s frustrating, but here’s why it happens:
Some stains — especially oil-based ones like salad dressing, lotion, or deodorant — can oxidize over time. That means the stain reacts with air and becomes more visible after washing or dry cleaning, often appearing as yellow or brown spots.
These stains might not show up right away, which is why they can seem to “appear” after a garment is cleaned. Once they oxidize, they’re much tougher to remove.
The key is acting fast.
If the stain is still fresh, your dry cleaner can pre-treat it before cleaning, which greatly improves the chance of complete removal.
