Zirkzee laid it perfectly. Maguire’s shot, agonizingly, soared over the bar. This wasn’t just any game. This was the fiercest rivalry in English football. Form meant nothing. United played like underdogs with fire in their veins, showing the world what they’re capable of. This was Ruben Amorim’s masterpiece, a tactical clinic. The pressing, the spatial control, the tackles flying in when out of possession, all flawless. Standout Performances Ugarte was everywhere. A midfield dynamo, intercepting, tackling, transitioning play seamlessly. What a player we have! Then there’s Bruno Fernandes, no words suffice. Since Sir Alex, he’s arguably our best signing. His numbers are astronomical: goals, assists, chances created. And his leadership? Inspiring. Yoro, the 19-year-old, delivered a game-saving tackle on Núñez late on. What a talent! Lisandro Martinez opened the scoring with a thunderous left-foot strike, set up by Bruno’s audacious no-look pass. Garnacho came on for 19 minutes of brilliance, assisting Amad’s goal. Everyone stepped up, but Ugarte’s relentless effort made him man of the match for me, with Bruno not far behind. Mazraoui and Dalot also delivered solid performances on both ends of the pitch. The Bigger Picture This game showcased Ruben Amorim’s vision. The identity he’s building is clear: aggression, control, and intensity. But as good as the performance was, questions linger. Why can’t we play like this every week? Licha’s post-match comments hit home: it’s about mindset. Against lesser teams, motivation falters. That’s unacceptable. Under Sir Alex, complacency wasn’t tolerated. If you didn’t give 100%, you were gone. Ruben seems to share that philosophy, and it’s refreshing to see. Player Analysis Goalkeeper: Onana was solid. Maguire and Licha were immense, with Maguire’s yellow card unfairly earned after Salah’s dive, disgraceful behavior from the Egyptian. Midfield: This was a midfield masterclass. The control, the tackles, the transitions, all perfect. Mainoo is growing with every game. Ugarte was a warrior, a powerhouse, the lungs of this team. Bruno? A magician. Amad is fast becoming a fan favorite, stepping up in the big moments. Attack: Højlund struggled. Service was limited, but he needs to improve his physicality. Zirkzee’s cameo was promising, almost delivering a last-minute winner. Final Words This performance is the blueprint for Ruben Amorim’s United. He’s changing how we play, how we think, and how we fight. It’s not easy; these players are relearning the game. Full-backs becoming wing-backs. New positioning, overlapping runs, defensive duties, it takes time. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither will this team. But the foundation is here. The identity is forming. And with patience, the results will come. Let’s not be too quick to judge. We saw the spark last night, the fight, the passion. The pieces are falling into place. Now, it’s about consistency. If Ruben can instill that mentality, 100% every game, no matter the opponent, this team will be unstoppable.
