🔴 Comment ne pas être révoltée ? Une dizaine de jeunes femmes ont été piquées hier soir pendant la Fête de la Musique à Reims. Une fois encore, ces faits sont survenus Place d'Erlon, devenue le symbole d’une insécurité qui, chaque soir, dissuade les habitants autant que les touristes. Je reçois régulièrement les témoignages de Rémoises et de Rémois qui n’osent plus s’y attarder après 20 h : agressions, vols de portables, bagarres, harcèlement de rue. Nombreux sont ceux qui préfèrent désormais se rendre à Boulingrin ou place du Forum plutôt que de risquer une mauvaise rencontre Place d'Erlon. Résultat : cette place perd continuellement en attractivité au grand dam des commerçants... Quelques heures avant la fête, Arnaud Robinet est venu faire une promenade de communication entouré de quelques élus pour une séance photo et des poignées de mains. Plus tard dans la soirée, une dizaine de femmes étaient agressées. Je tiens à remercier les forces de l’ordre présentes sur place qui ont fait tout leur possible pour assurer la sécurité de ceux qui voulaient simplement passer un bon moment en famille ou entre amis. Mais la sécurité ne se décrète pas par une promenade médiatique ; elle se construit par une présence policière constante et organisée. Voilà pourquoi mon projet prévoit 69 policiers municipaux supplémentaires pour atteindre 200 agents, avec des patrouilles qui seront massivement déployées chaque soir sur la Place d'Erlon et les rues avoisinantes. Mais la sécurité ne suffit pas ; il faut aussi redonner un souffle économique et festif à cette place historique de Reims. En tant que maire de Reims, je mettrai en place des marchés nocturnes associant artisans, producteurs et concerts. Sans oublier la mesure des "Samedis en ville" avec deux heures de stationnement gratuit un samedi par mois pour faire revenir les familles à Reims. On peut dépenser des millions d'euros pour embellir la ville : si les Rémois et Marnais habitant dans les environs ont peur, ils ne viendront pas. Ma priorité est d’abord de leur garantir la tranquillité, puis de refaire de la Place d’Erlon le cœur battant de Reims !
