Recycling the Same Old Players: From PDP to APC, Now ADA or Whatever Next?
Once again, Nigerians are being treated to a familiar political drama. The very individuals who formed the All Progressives Congress (APC) to oust President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015 have now regrouped — this time under a new name, the All Democratic Alliance (ADA) or whatever they decide to call it — in yet another bid to unseat the APC-led government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
But make no mistake: this isn’t a step forward. It’s not about reform or the people. It’s a calculated act of self-preservation by the same political elite who have held Nigeria in a chokehold for decades. They shift camps not out of principle, but to protect their interests — and only their interests.
Let’s be honest with ourselves:
What did we gain when we moved from PDP to APC?
We were promised “Change.” What we got was worsening insecurity, deepening economic hardship, record-high unemployment, a weakened naira, failing infrastructure, and mass hunger. The promised change turned out to be a change of names, not of values.
Now, the same people who demonized the PDP and painted themselves as saviors through APC are at it again — this time as ADA. But this is no fresh movement. It’s the same script, the same cast, only a different costume.
We must ask hard questions:
Where is the ideological difference between PDP, APC, and ADA?
What real transformation have any of them delivered to the common man?
How long will we allow political chameleons to keep swapping jerseys and deceiving the electorate?
If we continue recycling the same politicians under new banners, expecting a different outcome, then we are complicit in our own stagnation.
It’s time to break this vicious cycle. Nigeria doesn’t just need a new political party — we need a new political culture. One grounded in integrity, vision, and a genuine commitment to national development.
We don’t need a rerun of the same tired play.
We need a revolution of conscience.

Political alignment in the Middle East
.
This post is extremely subjective, there are groups/countries anti-Iran, but not necessarily pro-Israel, which is sometimes confusing to categorize

capitulate
A more dangerous threat, laden with ominous implications, is Trump citing the possibility of killing Ayatollah Khamenei: “We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now,” to precipitate a regime change. What sort of global order will we be living in if every head of state can simply kill the head of another state, only because they refused to capitulate or because there is a serious disagreement between them? Have we learned nothing from our experience in Vietnam and Afghanistan? Iraq offers another glaring example of American mishap by invading Iraq and killing Saddam Hussein to effect a regime change. On May 1st, 2003, President George W. Bush declared aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, “mission accomplished,” hoping that the removal of Hussein would lead to a more democratic and stable Iraq. But now we know what happened. We did not liberate but handed Iraq over to Iran, throwing Iraq and the region into greater turmoil, and Tehran benefited the most from the US’ folly. More than 4,400 American troops were killed and 32,000 wounded, and at a staggering cost of $1.6 trillion.

“I’m sorry to say this, but even I was a little bit taken [aback] by the events that transpired. It was very evident that there is a desire to prevent the trial from going through,” ani Enrile.
Aniya, maaaring nagkaroon ng maling pagkakaintindi ang mga senador sa pag-interpret nila sa probisyon ng Konstitusyon kaugnay sa impeachment dahil nakasaad doon na kapag inihain na sa Senado ang impeachment complaint ay wala nang ibang dapat gawin ang huli kundi “to hear, to try, and decide it.”
“Once it is within the jurisdiction of the Senate, it has to discharge its duty to judge the case. It’s sui generis,” dagdag ng dating Senate President.

Simple gene

Complete professional
Reflecting on the proposed framework for the Judicial Selection Committee currently under debate in the Knesset, IDI’s Dr. Amir Fuchs explains that the proposal would eliminate the supermajority currently required for appointing Supreme Court Justices and institute a mutual veto power for coalition and opposition members on the committee.
While supporters claim this method would lead to ideological diversity in appointments to the courts, Fuchs argues that this system would unnecessarily politicize the process and lead to justices chosen based on partisan leanings, “a 'deal' based solely on political considerations – without transparency regarding possible backroom promises in exchange for judicial appointments – is still a political deal.”
With professional considerations sidelined in favor of political ones, the result would be a polarized and less professional judiciary.
