A Solidarity Pilgrimage Ministry of Presence in the Holy Land The one-two punch that is Covid and the ongoing Gaza – Israel conflict has decimated the local economy for Arab residents of Jerusalem and the West Bank. Much of their infrastructure depends on the presence of religious pilgrims who come to immerse themselves in the “Fifth Gospel” of the biblical landscape. This special pilgrimage for rostered leaders offers a unique opportunity to support the Christians of the Holy Land through sharing of our time, resources, and empathy. Our fellow Lutherans of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land often feel alone and forgotten – being present with them at Sunday worship and other opportunities for fellowship are important factors in sharing hope for a better world where walls become tables and peace with justice and equity becomes possible. Thanks to the generosity of Good Shepherd Travel, this opportunity is available for less than half the cost of other pilgrimages and includes airfare, hotel stays, and all meals.
